The Harvard University Graduate School of Design aspires to provide education and scholarship of the highest quality, to advance the frontiers of knowledge, and to prepare individuals for life, work, and leadership. I was invited to create a brand identity for the HGSD Laboratory for Design Technologies, whose mission is to “leverage design research methods to understand the architecture of complex challenges, and develop prototypes for a more resilient, responsive, and productive future.” The logo’s blurred and amorphous shape symbolizes the unknown, new ideas becoming clear, the creation of a big concept from small components, something powerful that is emerging and taking shape.
Working with Leila is a great pleasure. She’s a highly creative, organized, and clear-thinking designer who is always conscious of the delicate balance between how a design looks and how a design works.

Leila is a very talented graphic designer. She knows how to balance aesthetic concerns and the needs of the client. The design process was a true collaboration and uncommonly successful. I also appreciated her sense of humor and enthusiasm.
